Nonprofit Leadership Institute at Duquesne University
The Nonprofit Leadership Institute (NLI) is a premier resource center for nonprofit boards. Founded in 1996 at the request of southwestern Pennsylvania's foundation community, the NLI is generously supported by Duquesne University, by grants from local foundations, and by registration fees from program participants. It operates within the University's School of Leadership and Professional Advancement.

Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh Organization Guide
An alphabetized list of non-profit agencies in and around the Pittsburgh area. This list is broken up by "type" of organization such as "children's clubs", etc. This site links directly to the non-profits' websites.

The Pennsylvania Association of Non-Profit Organizations (PANO)
PANO is the statewide membership organization serving and advancing the charitable nonprofit sector through leadership, advocacy, education and services in order to improve the quality of life in Pennsylvania.

The Pennsylvania Non-Profit Handbook
The Pennsylvania Nonprofit Handbook, 7th Edition, is the most up-to-date and useful publication for those starting a non-profit or for those already operating one in Pennsylvania. Each easy-to-read chapter includes a synopsis, useful tips, and resources to obtain more information. Pre-addressed postcards are included to obtain important government forms, instruction booklets, and informational publications.
